Meet Our Veterinarians
Dr. Jacy Cook
Owner
DVM: Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, 2001
Areas of interest: Equine medicine, reproduction and surgery. Canine orthopedic surgery.
Life history: Dr. Jacy was born and raised in the Gallatin Valley. After undergraduate school at Montana State, he moved to Washington State for veterinary school. There he met and married Karyn, who is also a veterinarian at AWVH. They have two children with whom they love to share the outdoors. Dr. Jacy enjoys hunting, fishing, skiing and riding horses with his boys.
Dr. Karyn Cook

Areas of interest: Small animal surgery and medicine, exotics, and raptors.
Life history: Karyn is originally from Washington. Through vet school, Karyn also worked at the Woodland Park Zoo, St. Louis Zoo, and the Bronx Zoo. At the end of vet school, she met Jacy who brought her to Montana. They have two very busy boys and too many pets to name. They all fish and ski together. Karyn also likes to quilt, crochet, and work for the Spay Neuter Task Force and Montana Raptor Conservation Center.
Dr. Shari Skifstad Bearrow
DVM: University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine, 1999
Internship: VCA VetCare Animal Hospital, Albuquerque, NM 1999-2000
Areas of interest: Small animals including exotic pets (birds, reptiles, rabbits, and rodents), dental procedures, and chemotherapy (cancer treatment)
Life history: Dr. Shari is a native of Minnesota and Wisconsin. She moved to Montana in 2003 but maintains her loyalty to the Minnesota Vikings. She and her husband, Russ have a son. Dr. Shari’s summer pursuits include backpacking, hiking, and camping. In the winter she enjoys cross-country skiing, quilting, and traveling abroad. Her animal family includes her 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 birds.
Dr. Meredith Owen
DVM: Colorado State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, 2011
Internship: San Luis Rey Equine Hospital, Bonsall, CA 2011-2012
Areas of interest: small animal general practice including dentistry, soft tissue surgery, and pain management.
Life history: Dr. Meredith Owen found the Gallatin Valley as a young adult and promptly realized that it’s the best place on earth. After completing her veterinary education in 2011 she has worked in both equine practice and small animal practice, finding the pace and camaraderie of small animal practice to be very fulfilling. Outside the clinic she is usually trying to keep up with her small boys with her husband Jesse, exploring the mountains, or riding horses. She has 3 dogs at home and will likely end up with some reptiles since the boys are so interested in them. But no snakes!
Dr. Mark O’Connor
DVM: University College Dublin, 2021
Internship: Cornell University
Life history: Dr. Mark O’Connor is a passionate veterinarian specializing in equine podiatry, reproduction, medicine, and surgery. After graduating from University College Dublin in 2021, he pursued internships and a residency at Cornell University. Drawn by the beauty of the western states, he joined All West Veterinary Hospital in Montana. Beyond work, he enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, and blacksmithing with his girlfriend Ananda and their cat “Pud.” With a deep-rooted love for large animals, Dr. O’Connor’s journey from Ireland to the USA reflects his unwavering dedication to veterinary medicine. Through his expertise and compassionate care, he continues to make a positive impact on the well-being of horses and their owners alike.
Dr. Mallory Mize
DVM: Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine
Life history: Dr. Mallory Mize earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. She specializes in equine wound care and management, equine internal medicine, equine dentistry, and client communication. Dr. Mize loves being able to walk alongside clients and work with them to be able to provide the best care. She takes pride in her client communication skills, empathy, and work ethic. Outside of her veterinary work, she enjoys skiing, fly fishing, hiking, horseback riding, and remaining active by competing in Spartan races across the country. A fun fact about Dr. Mize; she is originally from Kentucky and has been a mixed animal veterinarian for the past year and a half. Her beloved pets include 4 dogs: Cali (a black lab), Molly (an Australian shepherd), Stitch (a border collie), and Hallie (a mini-Aussie). She also has 2 horses, Chavez and Josie. Dr. Mize and her husband recently got married and have relocated to Bozeman.

Our Staff Members
Allison Feldt
Practice Manager
Allison graduated from Montana State University in 2012 with a B.S. in Agriculture Economics and a minor in Animal Science. She started at All West in 2013 as a receptionist and started in practice management in 2018. Allison loves working in this position because it is the perfect mix of helping animals and people. When she’s not working, you can find her horseback riding, hiking with her dogs, working on house projects, and snowmobiling with her husband Alex.
Aly
Equine Technician
Aly works alongside Dr. Jacy Cook in our equine department. She has previously worked on a guest ranch and enjoys trail rides and pack trips.
Avery
Certified Veterinary Technician
Avery transferred to All West from a clinic in Twin Falls, ID. Since then she has sat for the National Veterinary Technician Exam and passed. She became a credentialed technician in 2023. In her time away from work, she enjoys the outdoors and photography.
Emily
Small Animal Assistant
Emily came to All West with some experience in veterinary medicine already. She is knowledgeable and a skilled hand. Emily is also going to school at Montana State University.
Hailey
Customer Service Representative
Hailey helps us wherever needed. She’s currently enrolled at Montana State University for animal science.
Lianne
Certified Veterinary Technician
Lianne has worked in the veterinary industry for years. She relocated to the area and joined our team as a surgery technician. We appreciate her knowledge and ability to coach other team members. She enjoys skiing, biking, and hiking with her dog outside of work.
Liz
Certified Veterinary Technician
Liz is one of our small animal anesthesia technicians. She has passed the national test to become a certified vet technician. She is originally from the midwest but has set up home in Bozeman. She is now working on becoming an army medic.
Madalynne
Small Animal Assistant
Madison has been working in the veterinary medicine industry for 3 years and has recently moved to Bozeman to attend MSU.
Oleta
Oleta has been with All West Veterinary for 17 years. She runs our lab and is certified to run Coggins tests. She is also our exotic pet guru, owning 2 birds of her own.
Sage
Certified Veterinary Technician
Sage started at All West as an extern with the PIMA Veterinary Technician Program. She’s from the area and decided to join our equine team. She enjoys horse riding, hiking, and hunting in her time away from work.
Sarah
Certified Veterinary Technician
Sarah has worked in the veterinary industry for years. She enjoys surgery and has a special place in her heart for huskies! She sat for the National Veterinary Technician Exam in 2023 and became credentialed shortly after passing!
Brianna
Brianna came to work at All West after working in the veterinary industry for the past few years. She has skills in outpatient care and surgery. She enjoys spending time with her dogs and horse outside of work.
Chrystal
Chrystal came to work at All West after working in the veterinary industry for a couple years. She is building her skillset with us and enjoys learning new things, especially in exotic pet care. She enjoys spending time with her dogs and anything outdoors.
